Error: Unable to add the LBD record. The bibliographic record is unresolved

Symptom

  • When you attempt to add local bibliographic data (LBD) to a bibliographic record, you get an error reading:
    "Unable to add the LBD record.
    The bibliographic record is unresolved."

  • WorldShare Record Manager

Resolution

This could be due to a validation error in the bibliographic record.

  1. Check to see if the record validates by selecting Record > Validate.
  2. If there are any validation errors, correct them and replace the WorldCat record.
  3. Try adding your LBD again.
