Receiving a 504 Gateway Timeout error when attempting to export collection metadata

Symptom
  • When you try to export an XML or tab-delimited file of collection metadata, you get one of the  following errors:
    • 504 Gateway Timeout Error
    • Internal Server Error

Answer

This is a know behavior where the CONTENTdm Administration page times out before the tab-delimited or XML file can be completed. In most cases, the file is still generated and placed within the production files of the collection. To request the exported file be retrieved, contact OCLC Support and provide the following:

  • Server ID
  • Collection Alias
