WorldShare Reports in Power BI release notes, October 2025

Introduction

This release of WorldShare Reports in Power BI provides new features and enhancements. These features will help you manage more complex workflows, including:

  • View updated serials receiving/claiming reports to support the claiming by branch features

Recommended actions

For this release, we recommend that you review the following checklists and complete the relevant tasks to adjust your policies and workflows and train your staff. These checklists identify updates that we have determined as significant for most institutions. We encourage you to review all of the items in the release notes to determine whether other items might require additional action or follow-up by your institution.

These items require immediate action or decisions.

Action

If your institution is utilizing the claiming by branch feature introduced in Acquisitions in June 2025, these report changes will assist you with your serials receiving and claiming analysis. We encourage you to review all materials before turning this feature on.  Once enabled, Claiming by Branch cannot be disabled. Therefore, libraries wishing to use this feature must be certain of what is involved before enabling the feature.

Reporting staff may want to refer to the 30 January 2025 release notes and the OCLC help documentation to familiarize themselves with the Power BI reports and general features, including exporting, bookmarking, and report favoriting.

New features and enhancements

Updated serials reports to support receiving/claiming by branch

If your institution is utilizing the claiming by branch feature introduced in Acquisitions in June 2025, these report changes will assist you with your serials receiving and claiming analysis.

Serials Received Summary updates

You can now filter your Serials Received Summary report to more specific granularity if you are utilizing the claiming by branch feature.

New filters:

  • Serial Processing Branch Name: The branch location where serial issues are received and processed by staff, and where claiming activities are conducted to follow up on missing or delayed serial issues.
  • Serial Processing Shelving Location: The specific shelving area within the branch where serial issues are placed, including both newly received issues during regular processing and missing issues that are subsequently received through claiming activities.

Serials Claimed Summary updates

You can now filter your Serials Claimed Summary report to more specific granularity if you are utilizing the claiming by branch feature.

New filters:

  • Serial Processing Branch Name: The branch location where serial issues are received and processed by staff, and where claiming activities are conducted to follow up on missing or delayed serial issues.
  • Serial Processing Shelving Location: The specific shelving area within the branch where serial issues are placed, including both newly received issues during regular processing and missing issues that are subsequently received through claiming activities.

Bug fixes

Safari browser usage by WMS group users

Reporting users that are part of a WMS or Tipasa group can now successfully use the Safari browser for report workflows. Previously, group users may have experienced a "Failed to login to report server." error when using the Safari browser in group scope.
