WorldShare Reports release notes, March 2025

Release Date: March 23, 2025

Introduction

This release of WorldShare Reports applies a vendor software patch from SAP BusinessObjects, which provides assorted bug fixes to the classic WorldShare Reports platform.

Recommended actions

For this release, we recommend that you review the following checklists and complete the relevant tasks so that you can adjust your policies and workflows and train your staff. These checklists identify updates that we have determined as significant for most institutions. We encourage you to review all of the items in the release notes to determine whether there are other items that might require additional action or follow-up by your institution.

Follow-up actions

In an effort to keep your staff informed of new features and changes, you may want to consider these items.

Action

If you have reports scheduled to run on a recurring basis, with delivery to My Files (via "File System" destination), you may want to check that these schedules are operating as expected. You can check your report schedule history for any failures and determine if you need to reschedule the report.

Bug fixes

  • You can now schedule reports created or modified in Report Designer after 10 November 2024 to the File System destination (i.e., My Files) using the Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat PDF file format output options. Previously, since 10 November 2024, these schedules would fail, and report files would not be delivered.
    • Additionally, your previously "broken" schedules, because of the above condition, should resolve themselves once the release is completed.
  • You can now utilize the drill-through functionality in COUNTER reports for COUNTER vendor names that contain a pipe character (|). Previously, the drill-through link was failing on these vendors with an error message "Invalid prompt definition."
  • You can now view your constructed HTML hyperlinks in both your BusinessObject reports and exported reports to Microsoft Excel or Adobe Acrobat PDF. Selecting "Read content as Hyperlink" for your created links will now enable the links. Previously, you had to select "Read content as HTML" to enable the link in the BusinessObject report, but it did not allow you to utilize the links in exported reports to Excel and PDF.
  •  The "Track data changes" option is now enabled for reports in Design mode, located in the Analyze section of the top menu.

Known issues

  • After this release, you may experience a browser pop-up when you log out of the classic Report Launch Pad page. Depending on your browser, click "Leave" or "Leave page" when prompted to complete the log out of your session. E.g., in the Google Chrome browser below:
