How to turn off patron-initiated renewals in WMS Circulation

You'll need to update your loan limit policies. To achieve this, you'll need to set the applicable loan limit policies to limit the number of renewals. These can be found in OCLC Service Configuration (worldcat.org/config) > WMS Circulation > Loans > Loan Limit Policy. When viewing a loan limit policy, scroll down to "renewal limit" to see the current configuration and make changes. To block all renewals, set the limit to 0 (zero).
Once you've done that, Circulation staff will be able to process exceptions with an override as needed, following the instructions to Renew items.
