Symptom

Error message in the browser:

We are sorry, but your account does not have access to this resource. If you think you have reached this screen in error or have questions about the resource you were trying to reach, please contact your library.

Applies to

  • EZproxy with Groups configured

Resolution

The error is shown because the user does not have the necessary group(s) needed to access this resource.

With an EZproxy administrator account, check the following:

  1. In the Audit Events page, check which group the user has been assigned
  2. In EZproxy Administration under View database group assignments ( /groups ), check which group is needed to access the resource in question
  3. In user.txt or shibuser.txt, check how users get assigned the group.
