What is a discrete database?

A discrete database is one that can be searched individually.  This means that the search results list will be separate and distinct to the database. 

Note: Centrally indexed databases are not discretely indexed databases.  For this reason, centrally indexed databases must be searched alongside the WorldCat.org database.
