Introduction

This release of WorldCat Discovery includes the following enhancement:

  • Benefit from improved accessibility and usability in Saved Items and Personal Lists

Benefit from improved accessibility and usability in Saved Items and Personal Lists

Saved Items and Personal Lists in WorldCat Discovery have been updated to make it easier for users to manage, find, and organize materials—while ensuring a more accessible experience for all users.
These updates focus on reducing friction in common tasks and helping users confidently navigate and use their lists.

  • Navigate lists more easily
    Updated page designs create a more familiar, streamlined experience, reducing the effort needed to move between saved items and lists.

  • Find materials faster
    Call number details now include up-to-date branch and shelving locations, helping users quickly locate items in the library.

  • Manage list privacy with confidence
    Simplified privacy settings with clear descriptions make it easier for users to control how their lists are shared.

  • Move items between lists more efficiently
    An improved “move” experience makes it quicker to find the right list and stay organized.

  • View more items with less effort
    Lists load quickly and allow users to expand to view all items on a single page when needed, supporting longer or more complex research workflows.

These improvements make saved lists more usable, accessible, and reliable—supporting a smoother research experience from saving items to retrieving them in the physical or digital collection.

Note: Existing list limits remain unchanged. Each user can create up to 500 lists, with a maximum of 100 items per list.

Configuration: No configuration is required.

Include Request ID with problem reports

When reporting an issue with WorldCat Discovery, it is extremely helpful to include the Request ID. The Request ID is found at the bottom of the screen on which the issue occurred. Including this information allows us to directly trace what happened on the request we are troubleshooting.
