Why can't I see all libraries that own a title in WorldCat.org?

Applies to
  • WorldCat.org
Answer

This could be happening for two reasons:

  1. WorldCat.org users can view initial library holdings information when they conduct a search for a specific item in WorldCat.org. To view libraries beyond this initial set of results or view editions and formats for a given item, we ask that users confirm their identity by logging in or creating an account.
  2. WorldCat.org will list libraries within 200+ miles of your location; it can't show all items available worldwide at once. It assumes that the user will only look for libraries that they would reasonably want to visit in person. If you want to see other libraries in different parts of the world that would own a title, you will need to update your location in the site.
