Current issues

Issue Details
"Display All Libraries" error when viewing specific records - When searching WorldCat in FirstSearch, an "Error formatting records from WorldCat" message may display after clicking Display All Libraries to view the libraries worldwide that own the item.
  • The current workaround to avoid this issue is to search for the same OCLC number in WorldCat Discovery.

Anchored subject phrase searching -  Anchored subject phrase searching ('su='query') is returning 0 results. 
  • However, keyword subject searches such as 'su:query' and unanchored phrase searches such as 'su:'query'' do work. If the subject phrase is combined with a limiter (for example: su= "civil war" and dt= "bks"), the search will also work.

Phrase searching using quotations - Phrase searching in FirstSearch by entering the phrase in quotations ("query") using the Keyword search field is returning 0 results.

  • The current workaround to resolve this is by adding the OAIstr database in your FirstSearch configuration. This setting can be updated in your FirstSearch Administrative Module.
