New features and enhancements
Landscape orientation support for Android devices
CapiraMobile now supports landscape orientation on Android devices, providing your staff and patrons with more flexible viewing options.

Benefits:
- Enhanced usability: Your staff and patrons can rotate their Android devices to landscape mode for easier reading and navigation, especially on tablets or larger screens.
- Improved accessibility: Landscape mode can make content more comfortable to view for users with specific visual preferences or device setups.
- Flexible workflows: Your staff can choose the orientation that works best for their tasks, whether at service desks or during mobile checkouts.
Impact:
- Your patrons can optimize their device orientation for different tasks.
- Your patrons will experience a more adaptable interface that responds to how they naturally hold and use their Android devices.
Configuration: This feature activates automatically when users rotate their Android devices—no configuration is required.
Enhanced hold queue position control
Your admins now have greater control over hold display settings with the addition of a new configuration toggle in the Staff Dashboard.

Benefits:
- Increased flexibility: Your admins can now choose whether to show or hide hold queue positions based on your library's patron communication preferences.
- Improved patron experience: Your library can tailor the hold information displayed to patrons, reducing confusion or questions about wait times.
- Centralized control: The setting is managed in one location alongside other hold configuration options.
Impact:
- Your staff will have fewer questions about hold wait times, as admins can align the display setting with your library's communication policies.
- Your patrons will receive hold queue information that matches your library's service philosophy, whether you prefer to show estimated wait times or keep them private.
- Your library can maintain consistency in patron communications by controlling which hold details are visible in the app.
Configuration:
- Navigate to Options > Account > Manage Account > Holds in the Staff Dashboard.
- Use the "Display position in queue to patron" toggle to enable or disable this feature for your patrons.
- When enabled, patrons will see their position in the hold queue. When disabled, this information will be hidden from patron view.

Wise libraries - "Pickup by" date display for holds
Patrons at Wise libraries will now see a "pickup by" date for holds that are ready for pickup.

Benefits:
- Clear deadlines: Your patrons will know exactly when they need to collect their ready holds, reducing expired holds and improving collection rates.
- Reduced support inquiries: By displaying pickup deadlines directly in the app, your staff may experience fewer questions about hold expiration dates.
- Better patron accountability: Your patrons can plan their library visits more effectively when they have clear visibility into pickup timeframes.
Impact:
- Your staff will spend less time answering questions about pickup deadlines and processing expired holds that patrons didn't collect in time.
- Your patrons can proactively manage their hold pickups, reducing the frustration of expired holds and unnecessary trips to the library.
- Your library may see improved hold shelf turnover and fewer expired holds, optimizing your hold management workflows.
Configuration: The "pickup by" date is automatically populated based on your library's hold policies configured within the Wise system. No additional configuration is required in the CapiraMobile Staff Dashboard.
