Introduction
This release of CapiraMobile provides new features and enhancements in addition to numerous bug fixes for users on the newest version of the app with Staff Dashboard access.
We've implemented a regular app update schedule for all of our CapiraMobile apps on the newest version with Staff Dashboard access.
- For users of consortial apps, the Library Information screen now auto-sorts to the user's home library
- Users will now be able to enter barcodes in self-checkout manually
- Clearer hours wording on the Library Information screen to indicate when the library will reopen
- Enhanced functionality on the Account Log In screen
Many of these enhancements are the direct result of your feedback.
Recommended actions
Select enhancements and bug fixes require the user to restart their app. If your users do not see one of the changes made, please ask them to force close the app and restart it.
New features and enhancements
For users of consortial apps, the Library Information screen now auto-sorts to the user's home library
For members with consortial apps, when your users visit the Library Information screen, the list will automatically land on the home library that your users have selected. This prevents them from needing to scroll through the list to find their home library information. The libraries in the list will remain in alphabetical order so your users can easily find their way back to their library as they scroll.
Users will now be able to enter barcodes in self-checkout manually
Your users will now be able to manually enter an item barcode when using the app's self-checkout feature. The self-checkout screen will include a Manual Entry button that, when selected, will provide a pop-up to your users where they can enter an item’s barcode.
This feature will alleviate troubles caused by poor lighting, unclear barcodes, and temporary camera functionality, as well as provide self-checkout to your community members who do not wish to give camera access to your library's app.

Clearer hours wording on the Library Information screen to indicate when the library will reopen
Closed description
When your users visit the Library Information screen they will see updated language around your library's hours. If your library is closed, they will see "Closed - Opens [next available open day and/or time]".
Examples:
- When the library is closed for the day and will reopen on a future day: Closed - Opens Tuesday at 9:00PM
- When the library will open later on the same day: Closed - Opens at 12:00PM
Temporary Closure
Additionally, your library can now use a Temporary Closure toggle in the Hours module of the Staff Dashboard to indicate that your library is closed for an extended period without having to change individual days of the week. The app will display "Temporarily Closed". When your library reopens, your previous library hours will remain saved in the Staff Dashboard and CapiraMobile app.
We recommend that during temporary closures, your library inputs an alert notice to let your users know the reasoning for the closure.
Enhanced functionality on the Account Log In screen
Your users will now see minor updates to the Account Log In screen. An x icon will appear at the right side of the field when your users start typing in their barcode allowing them to delete text in the Barcode field. Once your users begin typing in their PIN/Password, they can click on the eye icon to opt in to view text in the Password field.
Bug fixes
SirsiDynix Symphony library users - Material, Audience, and Collection filters return results
Material, Audience, and Collection filters can now be added to the Staff Dashboard for app users to utilize. Previously, these filters were not providing results when used during a search.
SirsiDynix Symphony library users - Exact item searches provide accurate results
Exact item searches by your users no longer return duplicate items. Previously, exact item searches returned the same item twice in the results list, even when only one bibliographic item appears in your catalog.
Linked account Digital Card Wallet correctly displays the associated account
When opening their Digital Card Wallet from the Manage Account screen, your users with one or more linked accounts will now correctly see the Digital Card Wallet associated with the account they are viewing. Previously, when your user was viewing the Manage Account screen for User A and clicked on the Card Wallet button, they would be taken to the Digital Card Wallet for User B.
Event feeds updates overnight
Events at your library are now being updated overnight. Previously, events from previous days were remaining on your Event listing and new or changed events were not appearing.
Holiday closing description correctly displays apostrophes
Adding an apostrophe to your library's Holiday Closing Description no longer adds a backslash. This backslash was displayed in the Staff Dashboard and your library's app. For example, after saving "New Year's Day", the Staff Dashboard saved it as New Year\s Day.
