Library banner

Discover how to configure a banner that will appear on the Welcome screen of your CapiraMobile app.

Overview

When your library adds a Banner alert/notification in the Staff Dashboard, the text is shown prominently on the Welcome screen so your patrons can see timely announcements. You can use the banner to:

  • Surface announcements (closures, events, etc.) directly on the Welcome screen without requiring a second push notification
  • Provide time-sensitive messages that patrons will see at app launch

Important notes about banners

  • A user can tap the 'X' in the corner of the banner message to dismiss the banner alert until the next time the app is started.
  • If you do not want a banner shown, leave the banner text empty. The app will render no banner area and will not change layout spacing.

The Welcome Screen of a CapiraMobile app shows. Below the library's logo and the word "Welcome", a banner displays with the title, "Upcoming Closure" and the text, "All branches are closed on May 25th for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday."    The CapiraMobile Dashboard displays on the Banner Alerts page. There are fields on the page to enter configurations for the banner. The Title is filled in with, "Upcoming Closure". Below that, the text entered in the text box reads, "All branches are closed on May 25th for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday."
